Title Sequence reseach

A title sequence is the method by which cinematic films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members, or both, using conceptual visuals and sound. It usually follows but should not be confused with the opening credits, which are generally nothing more than a series of  text added in editing.

In the 'Sherlock Holmes' title sequence, it cuts between actual scenes from the film and drawings, linking to the 'detective' theme to it. It also was accompanied with the credits, to make it seem as though it was wrote in a book or something.

In the film 'Smoking Aces' the title sequence is polarized and colourful. It again shows scenes from the film and so gives the viewer a taste of what the film is about.
